Orchids Basics

Did you know that there are more than 20,000 species of orchids that you can find across different parts of the world? Yes, that’s true and what’s even more intriguing to know, is that orchids have been naturally found in different ecosystems on all continents, except for Antarctica.

So this happens to be one of those rare flowering species as well as a seed plant that you can find across various countries, except in super-harsh and cold climactic conditions such as that of Antarctica. Orchids can be commonly found in the Outer Banks – as this presents the most ideal growing scenario.

I love their aesthetic beauty, their riveting range of colors, their subtle fragrance and the fact that they continue to remain fresh for a really long time. Orchids might be slightly expensive no doubt, but the sheer elegance that they bring to any flower arrangement is without doubt worth all the money you can ever afford to spend.

Another fascinating point about orchids is the eye-appealing variety of shapes that they come in. While I can go on and on about the various kinds of orchids and how they have made my life so beautiful, I would like to outline a few varieties that are particularly my favorites:-
