Two volumes, edited by Professors Gilberto Morillo, Benito Briceño y Juan F. Silva. The book is in Spanish.
A total of 22 families, 141 genera and 597 species are described and illustrated with drawings and photographs. It includes 226 orchids and 205 grasses. It gathers, for the first time, a great deal of information previously dispersed and adds new botanical and ecological data.
Each species includes: botanical description, world and national distribution (including paramo sites), altitudinal limits, ecology,
phenology, anatomy and etnobotany. The book edition makes easy to
locate descriptions and illustrations.
